studio
The studio operates in a hybrid mode, which means I combine the digital world with the analog world. I have a professional analog Soundcraft Sapphyre console that offers classic British sound. The console’s 32 preamps, plus additional external preamps, allow for the most demanding recording sessions. The Focusrite Clarett+ 8Pre interface with ADAT expansion provides a total of 16 input channels and 18 output channels.

Soundcraft Sapphyre
The heart of the studio is the Soundcraft Sapphyre console. It is a premium-class analog mixing desk designed for professional studio and broadcast applications. It is characterized by warm, musical sound, high-quality microphone preamps, and an advanced EQ section based on classic British characteristics. The Sapphyre offers great flexibility in routing, grouping, and the ability to integrate with external effects processors. It is a highly regarded design among sound engineers, known for its solid build and intuitive signal path layout.
instrumentS
I have a wide range of musical instruments at my disposal, including a Zimmermann piano, Hammond organ with a Leslie speaker, Hohner Clavinet E7, vintage and modern electric and bass guitars (Fender, Jolana, Cort, Hohner, Harley Benton), a 1970s Tama Fibrestar drum kit, and synthesizers (Korg, Yamaha, Novation, Casio, Behringer). Available as well is a full range of percussion instruments such as timbales, rototoms, bongos, djembe, guiro, rattles from various parts of the world, Brazilian cuica, udu drum, tambourine, pandeiro, agogo — and the list could go on. I love classic effects, which I have been collecting for over 20 years. I own a Roland Space Echo Re-201 tape echo, numerous digital and spring reverbs (Eventide, Vermona, Benidub, Fisher, Roland), filters, delays (Eventide, Korg). All of this is available to my clients as well as during remote sessions for production, sound design, or mixing.

But gear isn’t everything
More important than the gear is the room’s good acoustics and the monitoring systems. I use mastering monitors Sveda Audio Dapo paired with a 15-inch Sveda Audio Wombat subwoofer. The second set is classic Yamaha NS10 monitors with their distinctive white cones. The third set is American Event TR8XL monitors, which have been with me for two decades. The variety of monitoring systems gives me confidence that my mixes and masters translate well from the studio to the listener’s environment.
